Umbrellas for Summer Shade

It’s the time of year when the sun in the Midwest is finally starting to feel hot! Enjoying the summer outside is a must-have for our short Minnesota summers. Relaxing on your patio, laying around a pool, or dining on your deck is more relaxing under the shade of an umbrella.

Push Button Tilt Umbrella – Great for smaller patios or bistro dining sets. This offer just enough shade for a few people. Easy push button tilt to create the most shade during morning hours and evening dinners. Available in 7.5’ octagon and 9’ octagon sizes.

Collar Tilt Umbrella – Our most popular option! Stocked in 9’ octagon canopy size which fits most outdoor dining sets.  Also, available in 11’ size, too. Available to use free standing or in a dining table and customize with your choice of frame finish and canopy color.

Monterey Umbrella – Popular for its durability, this market umbrella has fiberglass ribs that allows the frame to bend and flex in the wind. Constructed with an aluminum center pole and stainless steel-parts for years of shade. Available in 7.5’ octagon, 9’ octagon, 11’ octagon, 6.5’ square, 7.5’ Square, and 8’x10’ canopy sizes. 

Rectangular Auto Tilt – This umbrella is a favorite over rectangular dining settings. The shape offers a perfect match for those longer tables and gives a tailored look. AKZ plus Octagon Cantilever -    A little beefier option than the AG25, the AKZ model provides infinite tilt as well has horizontal, left and right, tilting options. Easily rotate the umbrella 360 degrees with the foot pedal. Excellent for shade in the hot summer months. Available in 11’ octagon, 11.5’ Square, 13’ octagon, and 10’x13’ rectangular sizes. 

Aurora Cantilever Umbrella – Maximize your shade with this cantilever umbrella. Available with infinity tilt toward the pole and 360 rotations for extra shade coverage. Optional model available with fiberglass ribs for extra windy locations. Modern styling and limitless canopy color choices make this a perfect option for your patio. Don’t forget a base! All umbrellas, even umbrellas in a table need a weight to hold them down. When open they are like a sail in the wind and it doesn’t take much to lift them off the ground.  Minimum weight requirement is usually 50 lbs. for your smaller umbrellas while larger center pole/market umbrellas require 80-100 pounds. Large cantilever styles always require a larger base with more weight, between 200-400 pounds or more.

And pro tip, ALWAYS close your umbrella when you’re not using it or when it’s very windy. It’ll save you from umbrella or table damage and keep that umbrella lasting for many years!
