During the Victorian Era of the late 1800’s, pool table designs were becoming increasingly detailed and extravagant. Discerning homeowners interested in owning their own table yearned for a design that was better suited for their needs. In response, Brunswick-Balke-Collander Co. designed and created the Manhattan. While it possesses some of the details of the higher end tables produced at that time, it had a more tasteful appeal.
