Las Vegas Market 2014 - Furniture and Home Decor

September 23, 2014

The Las Vegas Market was a success, and a lot of fun I might add.  We were able to see many new products, some of which have the potential to make it to our showroom in the future.  If you have questions on anything you see here please send them my way. Thanks for visiting!

I had the pleasure of attending the Las Vegas Market from January 26-28. It was a much needed change in weather from Minnesota that’s for sure. The weather was a comfortable 65 degrees during the day, while back in Minnesota I heard it was down to -23 degrees. Glad I was able to miss that!

The Las Vegas Market is a fun place to be not only for the change in weather, but for a chance to view up and coming furniture and accessories. You get a feel for the hot colors, trending styles and experience new products. I took some photos to show some of what I witnessed firsthand.

Here’s a view upon arrival. Three buildings make up the World Market Center. I’m standing in the center rotunda area.

Bright and pastel colors are in! Pantone's Spring 2014 Color Trends were seen in all areas of the market. Leather, fabrics, rugs, pillows, and artwork. See Pantones color trend report here.

On the other end of the spectrum of color, was a lack of color. Worn, washed out, and natural texture was another common theme. Many materials including wood, leather, and metal have been given the vintage treatment to look like they’ve already been lived in. Here are a few examples.

What do you think about these barstools? Are they styles you are looking for?

Palliser Furniture had a neat new feature for wine lovers! Typically if you set your wine glass in the cup holder it can tip over, but not with this new feature. I was bummed they didn’t have a wine glass to help demonstrate, but this is a Wine Glass Holder. It will work with the tray table grommets on the Palliser line of home theater seating.

Palliser also brought out a new line of chairs that swivel, glide, and have power recline. Available with a standard outlet plug-in or a rechargeable battery pack so you won’t see any cords. With a touch of a button I was laying back with my feet up and relaxing. And trust me that felt really good after walking through furniture showrooms all day.

Take a look at this unique pool table that caught our eye. Made in Italy, it’s constructed of a crystal glass case with a stainless steel frame and components. They used Italian slate for the playing field base and Simonis wool cloth. Check out more about this table from BD Collection

Ekornes continues to push the boundaries of design and function. They’ve come out with a couple new chair frames, including this model, called the City High-Back. The base is not your typical Stressless® circular base and is available in two seat heights.

Would you ever order theater seating in two-tone using two different leathers? Omnia Leather offered this look on the Portland theater seats.

Look at these little furry friends. I just had to share. You can find almost anything at the furniture show.
