Light, Bright and Beautiful
At the Chicago Casual Furniture Market this past summer we noticed the trend for bright and vibrant colors, paired with neutral backdrops. Grey & white tones continue to push forward in popularity and are evident in material selection such as fabric, metals, wicker, and aged teak. Home décor color trends have lightened up considerably in the last few years and it’s evident in outdoor material and finish selections.
Vibrant shades of citrons and oranges are taking a hint from the clothing industry and becoming popular in the patio world. Blues are making a comeback in all variety of shades, including navy and cobalt.
Minnesota and the Mid-west tends to be last to jump on the color trend bandwagon, but an easy way to get your pop of color without a huge commitment is through umbrellas, rugs, decorative pillows, or maybe a couple accent chairs. No more matchy-matchy
Eclectic is in! Your dining set and outdoor sofa no longer have to be the perfectly matched set and your end tables don’t have to be from the same collection as your sofa. Customize your outdoor furniture by grouping different furniture collections together. Use chairs from one manufacture and a table from another.
Combining similar colors, but on different materials - such as wicker, metal, stone, and fabric – add texture and pizazz to create a cohesive look without looking too cookie cutter. A good example of this trend is pairing a wicker chairs with a metal or wood table. It takes a little more creativity, but with a little time (and maybe help from a designer, wink-wink) you can create a furniture display uniquely created for you.
